i bought my first horse last saturday, she is a bay thouroughbred.
she has been neglected, she has lice patches of hair missing and is under weight.
she has a beautiful personality :)
she was very upset and stressed when we moved her, but now she follows me where ever i go!
i had her vet checked and she is ok, aside from protien breakdown and low white cell count, due to her poor condition.
i have wormed her, with equimax LV, and gave her the full dose for 700kg(bar the little she lost, lol), because the sales lady told me you cant overdose with that one.?
i have looked at ratio estimates online and they all say different equations- using length and chest measurements.
based on some of the charts combined with her condition rating, i estimated her at between 350-400kg. i measured her with a measure tape which gave me abt 470kg.
what is the most relyable way to estimate weight?
has anyone done a comparison of actual weight compared to estimate methods to see how close they are?
I'm going to take a horse on trial, his current name is Hubble/ Hobo. But I want to have a name picked out to call him so that I don't fall into using his old name. I like Hobo but can't think of a show name to go with it.
He's 17 hand TB that's bay with no markings. He bites, not me but pretty much everyone else. We are going to do English Hunters and Equitation.
I really like names like Remington and Harry but both of those names are already taken at my barn.
Funny names like Anonymous Bystander are great but that name taken too ):
here's a pic of what he looks like http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk251/jonesy819/DSCF3829-2.jpg
Thanks to the people who help me out I really appreciate it
what does it mean when you say that a horse collicked? does anyone know what that means? if you do, please answer.
thankssss.
I know I've been asking this over and over but i really need a name for this horse. It is for the book i am writing. If you want to know the title of my book it is INVISIBLE. (By the way i would not like to see the answer "Garnet". That is the horse's name and I Do Not like that horse name. This is NOT my horse so please don't answer with "he's pretty" i just want some names please.)
HORSE - chestnut Arabian Stallion with white stripe. He is fast, strong, and cute but he's also a caring horse with quite a personality. This boy is really playful and likes to mess around with his owner, Nicole. But when Nicole is said or angry he is always there to cheer her up.

NAMES - Please no registered Names. For those who don't know what that is, it is a long name that horses use when they are in shows or maybe racing. Example: Morning Dove.
Stable Names are much appreciate. And I'd like a cute but powerful name for his personality and temperament. But i dont really want to see the same name over and over. And please no famous horse names. Thank you!!
Thanks to Everyone Who Answered! (:
