Ok in short could you tell me how you care for your horses mane and tail.
i.e. To help it grow long, thick and healthy
(I'm having a debate with a friend!)
well i have had my gelding for a year, we know he is really proud cut, for he has sired two foals, then was cut. He used to do really well in round pens until we started working him harder, now when he wants to stop working, he lunges at me, bearing his teeth and all, fore legs out towards me, and he doesn't hit me then, he turns and throws kicks, then comes back at me repeatability. Any suggestions? We have considered taking him down, by having him lay on the ground, and ill sit on his neck for awhile, but we want to know if their is a better way around this.
I came across someones question about the value of a magazine or something with Pat Parelli's autograph & found the people responding to it weren't "big Parelli fans". As a fellow horsewoman, I'm interested in why you have this negative opinion towards him. I have more than 20 years of experience in the horse world & have found the Parelli's to be quite amazing people & am pretty interested in reading your responses, since I am still quite shocked as to why any one wouldn't be a big fan. Let's remember to keep this respectful, please.
and someone tries showing you something, dont you think its wrong when they say basically that you are training your horse wrong?
also, shouldnt you walk your horse around or longe her for a little bit before you ride?
thanks everyone!
my friend recently got a new horse, she's been riding for about four years, and this new horse is an Arabian Andalusian cross, and he is very head strong, she can normally control him really well, but recently she fell off while cantering after he shied at a little kid running around, then the next time we went riding he bolted from a walk and she fell again, then again the next time we rode he bolted at canter. this happened about 6 times in a row. but he only does it with my friend, he never does it with me or Alicia (another friend that rides him sometimes) and now the girl that owns him is scared of riding him, she absolutely refuses to see him/touch him/ride him, how can i encourage her to ride him again ?
