Hi. Recently i got a 20 year old quater horse gelding on free lease. some of my friends had been riding him at pony club. i got this horse because the owner couldn't afford to feed him. He has been there done that and the owner told me he ws great in the float, had been with a divider but not recently and he seemed perfect. We were towing him on a dead flat road and he slipped and knocked the divider out of place. We stopped on the side of the road and fixed him up and he started climbing the walls of the float. So we took him to meet our other horse at a public horse arena. When we went to take him home we put our other horse in with him and he started throwing himself against the divider and climbing the walls of the float even when we were going staight on the flat! My other horse is so friendly and we had a stallion divider in with him so it wasnt her. i dont no what or why he was doing that! he didnt have a rug on or hay. If anyone has had experince with scramblers or no of a way to stop it i would really like to know.
I really want to get into barrels how hard is it to balance when i get to a trot it feels like i am going to bounce off...He used to do barrels before i got him about two years before i got him (He is now 9 yrs old paint gelding) also do they do pols? Is that easier that barrels he is also a fast horse with race blood lines.
Oh and would 4 h be a good thing for me or am i to old im 16 yrs
I need help to gain confidence when I jump and canter. I am super confident at the walk and trot, but when I try to jump over 1 foot or canter, I feel like the horse will take advantage of me and I cant really steer or keep my seat and I just feel like a total mess! Any help?
