Right at the bottom of his throatlatch on the left side there is swelling. It doesn't appear to be a swollen lymph node because it seems too far back, it's not strangles, I don't think it's a bite because there are no bite marks or broken skin, but it does irritate him when I poke at it. It's HARD. It just appeared today - yesterday he didn't have it. I lunged him and when he lopes and jogs to the left he has to hold his head in a certain position - he looks VERY uncomfortable, His spirits are high, his temperature is normal.
Could this be an abscess? Would it show up so suddenly? Is there something else it could be?
I'm going to look at him tomorrow, and I'll call a vet if it's any bigger. I just want educated guesses on what it could be.

Yesterday he ate something off the ground and then about an hour after he was producing a lot more saliva than usual. He was showing certain symptoms of possibly choking but I kept an eye on him for about another hour and he was fine afterward. He could drink and eat and breathe normally. If he maybe got something stuck in his throat, would it swell like that? Today he was normal - no extra saliva or eating/breathing troubles - just the swelling.
I feed him hay and hoffman's horse ration which comes in a pellat form.

OK, well i lunge my horse now that its winter,because i want him to kick up his heels a bit before i get on him,
i usually lunge him with the lead rope because i dont need a whip,( i barely even use the lead rope) all's i have to do is cluck and he trots , he's very obedient and well mannerd under saddle/ and on ground but (in the round pen)when i kiss at him (meaning lope/canter) he just gets a faster trot,
but doesnt lope. i've tried being more SHOoooo - GO AGRESSIVE, but nope , i know he wants to please but he wont lope
but under saddle when i kiss he gets right under and lopes !!? i've tried chasing him waving the lead very agressive etc. and nothing
do i neeed to use a wip or something
i just need him to canter , but idk about the wip,
i don't want him to gallop around in fear and what-not

I've been hearing all these rumors that there's gonna be a second movie from "Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron." I heard there was gonna be a second one. Is this true?
