Value of a EX- Race horse to the Value of a Green Horse? Would a horse that is an ex- Racer be more expensive than a green horse that has never raced or raced only once? If they are of the same age and are both healthy and are also both TB geldings?
I love my mare but she doesn't turn!!! She doesn't listen she doesn't do what I ask of her, and most of all she is subborn!! My halflinger mix mare is older, I have had her for seven years, I started riding alot more latly, but it's been really wet so I don't make her do alot cause well I would hate for her to take a spill and have to pay 1000's in vet bills, so I keep it on the safe side and just trot around the pasture. Now I don't use a bit or a saddle, I go bareback, with a halter and lead lines, she doesn't mind just standing there, but if I give pressure to her sides with my heels she turns her head and trys to bite my shin. She actually got me one time. Of course I slap her neck, but she keeps doing it. Also, she doesn't reponse to pressure on the sides, so I tried using the end of the lead line like a whip and it worked, I got her to turn using this, and she did so well using this method that I just allowed the lead line to touch her side and would move forward, and do as I asked. Now today, I tried just using pressure with the heels and nothing, she keep trying to bite, and I tried the lead line nothing. She turn in cirles. We have a run in shed, in our pasture and she always trys to go in there. Or if I Try to turn her away she will side step towards the shed and keep her head going in the direction of the way I want... I really love my horse, but she is so stubbore, I really need help. Also, she used to be an old lessons horse, so this may be a reason for her behavior. Oh please don't say look into a new horse, that is not an option. ULTIMUS, Really, stop wasting my time. Okay, At the time I don't have a bridle, bit that fits her, they are all way to big or to small, and my mother doesn't want me to use her really nice one, she used when she was my age. I have riden her with a saddle, she acts the same, I personally feel safer when riding bareback. I don't care if you all are rude, I just need ways I can help her understand I just want her to give it her all, and I know shes got it in her. We don't have paddock... I'm tryin to get my dad to buy more cattle panels, I would only need about 5 more to make a big euogh one. I never thought that she wouldn't have been trained with out a bridle, I will have to try her with one, as soon as I have the money to buy one, also, I have a saddle, I was going to use today, But I couldn't find a girth that would fit her right then and there, So I said screw it. If you couldn't tell I don't have alot of patience for little things.
My gelding is very healthy, but his eye seems a little cloudy which i see in alot of horses, but its not that thats bothering me, its that his eye seems to always be watery. and then it gets dry and a little crusty. i clean it with a warm wet sponge. but what could it be? hes not blind or anything, but it just seems weird and it seems to be in his left eye more than the right. also, i can't really ask my parents, because the horses are my thing and my parents don't know anything about them lol. its not fly spray cause i am not currently using any because fly season is like over at my house. its not terrible i was just wondering if anything was wrong. ill probably have my vet check it out when he comes to float his teeth
