I'm am using a side pull bridle (It looks like this http://ny-image0.etsy.com/il_430xN.20240212.jpg). she dose much better in it then a bit, But she getting Pretty bad at stopping and turning. At home she can practically stop on a dime. but when I'm competing in a Arena she starts getting hard and gait sour. I don't really want to change to a bit if possible. Just want to know how to soften her mouth and get her to stop when i tell her to. Thank you For you help.
This is my old, POS no brand saddle that has been sitting in the garage for nearly a year. lol. Keep in mind it definitely needs cleaned before I ACTUALLY use it... it has a lot of mold and shit on it. I hate using no brand saddles like this but if it fits her, and I know it fits me, and we both find it comfortable, why not use it temporarily? Me and my peeps have decided it mostly fits but seems a little wide on her. I'm worried that once I'm actually riding in it, it'll squish down and be too low. I have a half pad I could put on her though, which might be a kind of quick fix. I just hate to buy a good quality saddle before she's done growing and before she's developed a decent topline. because by then I might need a whole new saddle again lol. Anyways see what you guys think.. at least it fits her better than the Northrun length wise. lol. (I have two because my video camera is possessed and keeps shutting off on it's own) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwOHAPpfR4Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC1Ds85pvAk So what do you think? Should I use it? probably with a half pad? Thanks :-]
3 years ago i took saddleseat lessons. well saterday, at tractor supply(my old insructor works there) we got to talkin and hes givin me a bit to help me out with my new horse(she green, but wont turn nor move) well he also said i can ride. and im kinda nervous. but not bout the ridin part, its about the other girls hes goin to have up there ridin(the started after i quit) and the show! im affraid they are goin to find tons of stuff wrong with my ridin since i rope, barrel, and pole bend now. and i member everything from my lessons im just worried what the goin to think, and how they goin to react. anyways to calm myself down and just have fun with it!? haha, idk. and also what do you guys think i should do with my 5year old mare that is broke(green) will ride with another horse. but wont move, or turn alone. and she wont lunge, we are finally getting her to. but i think i get more of a workout t hen her!! lol thanks in advance.
im gonna be in a pet parade with my horse and this yrs theme is... "fun on the farm" and since horses r part of a farm it seems weird to dress them and us up! anyway, i was thinking of buyin the horse paint that washes off and doing black or white spots to make my horse a cow! but then the ? is... what should i be? my friends in it to and she says to be a black spot on there back and dress in black, but that seems weird!!! haha so what shud we be? (i was thinking of bull, and bull rider) and any other ideas are welcome! thanks:)
Average age of professional 3-day eventers who compete in competitions such as Rolex, etc. Just curious.
