Mange is an awful skin condition that you sometimes see on horses who aren't well cared for, although it can happen to any horse no matter how well pampered. Mange can cause real discomfort for a horse, and its owner. Mange is one of those zoonotic diseases that can pass on to your whole family, two and four legged. We once knew a Clydesdale mare that had leg mange, and we were actually able to see the culprits with a low powered microscope. It was both fascinating and icky.
