Let the buyer--and the seller, beware. Scams abound on the internet, and scams involving horses and equipment are common. I've received emails in response to sales ads that refer to my horse as an 'item', promising me substantially more than the price I was asking. A reader recently had a random offer of a free horse if she paid for shipping up front. Chances are both her money and the horse would have disappeared once the check was cashed. Luckily, as tempting as the offer was, she was smart enough to smell a rat. If someone offers you a horse deal that sounds too good to be true, chances are, it is.
If you've had an encounter with online scam offer on a horse ( or equipment) you were buying or selling here's your chance to tell your story. Brush off your best writing skills and share your story so others will know what to watch for when advertising or buying a horse online.
