My sister just got a fifteen year old Arabian mare who has some experience in distance riding. I'm very tempted to try her out, thereby releasing Trillium from her trail riding duties, which she clearly dislikes.
I think she's about half the width of Trillium though, and has a very tiny teacup nose and dishy face and a short back, which means none of my tack will fit her. I think I have an old synthetic bridle that belonged to my Arabian gelding many moons ago. I'll have to dig into the long unvisited depths of my tack trunks. My saddle, however will probably cover her up! Because I need an 18" seat it's going to be hard to find a saddle that will fit her short back (I've met her found all her itchy spots, which she thoroughly enjoyed, but I don't know her name yet!) So as an alternative, I'm looking at treeless saddles. Readers have been reviewing their treeless saddles, which should help me make an informed decision as I search for the perfect saddle. Do you ride in a treeless saddle? Add your opinion and write a review. The form is quick and easy to fill out.
