It's hard enough to maneuver one horse through a dressage test, so I can't even imagine the skill required to manage a team of them.
Getty ImagesBut in combined driving, that is one of the challenges. Combined driving is also a very exciting spectator sports. Combined driving is one of the sports that will contested at the upcoming World Equestrian Games, to be held in Lexington, Kentucky September 25, to October 10, 2010.
The dressage phase is only one of three tests horses, drivers and grooms must compete in. The obstacle course is very exciting to watch as drivers must negotiate sharp turns around a course marked with pylons with balls perched on top. The object is not to knock the pylons so the balls topple off. And the cross country phase puts drivers, grooms and horses over bridges, through water and other natural obstacles.
