there was a girl who lived with her dad and her mom died i think and she had an older sister and a horse on a difffrent farm or something, and at night the mare was giving birth so the girl rode her bike through the rain to her horse
the horse ended up dying and the foal lived
she kept the foal

OH YEAH! and she raced her sisters boyfriend on horseback near the end
PLEASE TELL ME
How would you recommend to put dee rings on my horse's turnout blanket so that I can attach a hood to it?
I just moved my 5yr old QH to a new barn. and after a few days of being there he twisted his ankle or did something really silly! On friday I noticed when he would try to stand up from laying down, he had a really hard time getting his legs underneith himself. I figured then it was just him trying not to put weight on his hurt leg. Then yesterday when i went to see him he was laying down again and I kissed to try and get him to stand up and he was falling all over the place and couldnt get underneith himself, and the result of that I think hurt his leg again. They have stall mats in the stall and its a smooth surface, The place I came from didn't have mats so could it be because hes not used to mats? and the shavings are kept outside underneith a tarp, so they are a little damp. and in the stall i can see where it would be slippery for him trying to stand up esp. with his shoes. I gave thought to maybe taking the mats out but underneith I think is just a wood floor and that getting damp would make it just as slippery if not more. Whether that caused that injury in the first place or not its def. not helping him and could cause injury in the future. Any ideas on what I can do to not make it so slippery? If I can't think of anything I know they have some stalls downstairs, that have a type of stone dust as opposed to a wood or matted floor, that I may try to move him to if I can't think of or do anything else with the stall he's in (the stalls downstairs Im not the biggest fan of, if I can do something with the one he's in now Id like that better, but I don't want him hurting himself! so again Ill move him to a diff. stall if need be.)
I Did have the vet out to see him when he hurt himself. He doesn't seem to have trouble getting up anywhere else except in his stall.
The vet is the one who thought that's what he did (twisted his ankle) On friday when he hurt himself, he wasn't putting any weight on that front leg and he had swelling from his pastern up to about mid-cannon, and obviously with swelling there's heat. I buted him that night like the vet said and I put standing wraps on him. Saturday he seemed better he was walking on it a bit and putting weight on it. On saturday I did a furazone sweat on him as well. So yesterday (monday) after he got up he was back to barely putting weight on it, and I think it was from the way he got up, so Im not sure if he was getting better and just re hurt it or if it was the bute making him feel better, but I did another furazone sweat yesterday and called the vet again to update her on what was going on, and she said in a few days if he doesn't improve that she will come back out to see him again and take X-rays
I want to get a large blanket for my 15 YO TB Geld who is just short of 16hh. What size is best? 72" 76" 78" or 82" ?
Would an 82" be considered an xl or l?
He is pretty big, so I just want to make sure I dont order anything too small.
What are the signs of colic? I just want to check to make sure my horse doesn't have it, cause someone said something in my other question about colic and i just want some more information on it. My horse eats apples but not a whole lot, he just eats the apples that fall on the ground, my other horse do the same thing, but they're perfectly normal. I just want to make sure he doesn't have it tho i'm pretty sure he doesn't i ride down at my trainer barn all the time and i was just down they're asking her some question about my horses cut and if she sees anything wrong with my horse just also lets me know, but you can never be too sure. Tho i am going to remove all the apple off the group in his field, when i get back from school. Thanks)
