EAST LANSING, Mich. -- As children gear up for the horse show season, parents may need to do a little polishing of their own. A free webcast offered by My Horse University and eXtension’s HorseQuest will prepare parents with practical advice for staying steady during the ups and downs of the season. Attend the live webcast on May 18, 2010, at 7 p.m. EDT to hear from an expert and ask questions on this topic.
Parenting Tips at the Horse Show will be presented by Karen Waite, an equine Extension specialist at Michigan State University (MSU). She will focus on the challenges and rewards of being a horse show parent and offer expert advice on supporting your child through more than just the ribbons and gates. Parents will get tips on areas such as listening, handling the competition, being a positive influence and supporting their child’s learning experience.
