Here is a book that you could leave out on the coffee table because even your non-horsey friends will be captivated by the beautiful photography. 
On the other hand, you might want to hide it, because your horse loving friends will be begging to borrow it. I loved Gallop to Freedom by Cavalia stars Frederic Pignon and Magali Delgado. This isn't a horse training book, but it will inspire you to look at training in a new way. Here's my review of Gallop to Freedom: Training Horses with the Founding Stars of Cavalia. What a great last minute gift for any horse owner!
