I often tease Thor about being a donkey at heart. He lived with a donkey named Esmerelda for a summer and she taught him some donkey ways. She made a good companion for Thor and although she was less than half his size, was the boss. When we tried to load Esmerelda on the trailer to leave she demonstrated why donkeys have a reputation for stubbornness. I pulled and my daughter pushed while Esmerelda simply planted her feet and took root. It wasn't until we gave up, that Esmerelda casually walked onto the trailer.
