Ok, I have a 3 year old quarter horse filly whom I have not ridden at all since the fall because of all my chores like feeding, cleaning the arena, etc. When I rode her in the fall, I usually did it just bareback in her rope halter using the lead rope as reins because she responded much better to that than the bit. I didn't ride her yesterday, but I put the bit in her mouth and after she took 15 min. playing with it, I started pulling on the reins a little bit. I tried to get her to turn her head sideways a little bit and back up, but no matter what I did, she just pulled away from pressure. Please help me! I know there is nothing wrong with her teeth. Also, I am using an O-ring snaffle if that helps. Thanks!
